Spray tan pregnancy

The answer is yes, it is safe.

The ingredient in the lotion is Dihydroxyacetone also known as (DHA).

DHA is completely non-toxic and it works by reacting with the skin cells on the outermost layer of the skin.  This then produces the brown pigment colour called melanoidin that gives you that golden sun kissed look.

The DHA does not absorb past the outer layer of the skin, therefore it is not absorbed into the body leaving mother and baby perfectly safe.

I personally like to ask the mother to be to wear a small face mask whilst doing the major spraying of the body, but it is ok to remove from the face when spraying the facial area.

The long and short of it is yes it is safe to get a professional Spray Tan whilst pregnant, and a pregnant mother can still look and feel like a ‘Yummy Mummy’.
